DIENSTbar präsentiert NU @ Galerie K

Nu is psycedelic ethno-drone collective from Timisoara, Romania.
The group was formed in 2001 by the painter and Saz-player Sasha-Livio and Alexandru/Sanyi, accoustic bass.
In the following years the collective was joined by Szilamer Farkas (sitar), Vlad Sturdza (electronics, synthesiser) and Caius Hera (percussion, lute)
They quote as their influences artists such Mircea Florian, Phoenix, Can, Galactic Lilah, Sun Ra and Atman. Or in other words: romanian folk music, asian sounds, birds and trees, krautrock. They call what they are doing: psychedelic, carpathian/balkanic improvised music. The instruments they use are: saz, guitar, sitar, acoustic bass,voices, drums, djembe, darbuka, bells, indian and romanian flutes, synthesizer
