Angst Hase Pfeffer Nase Glistening Inn 2008 LP Ultra Eczema
Angst Hase Pfeffer Nase is the moniker of Chris Cooper a multi instrumentalist, cat and moustache toucher, neologist and member-guitarist or ex-member-guitarist of bands such as Deerhoof, a duo with Bill Nace called Buddies (though Nace would love to see that name changed), Turbwasn, Fat Worm Of Error, Barn Owl, Caroliner, etc... Probably this is one of the most intense and most "filled" records UE released so far, a precise collage of beautiful sound made with more instruments then a parrot could handle, such as plastic guitar, bass, clarinet, banjo, optigon-organ, egg slicer, ratchets, broken toys, fan motors, whirliegigs, glasses, tape loops, etc.Full colour cover art-collage and full colour insert by Dennis Tyfus. Limited to 500 copies.
Antmanuv/Infant Cycle, The Periodical III 2007 3"CDR The Ceiling
THE INFANT CYCLE presents more Unrelated Work Tapes"- part of series of that is both deeply interconnected (to other parts and future and past Infant Cycle tracks), yet can be heard on their own. Like much of the Ceiling catalogue, what is seemingly chaos later reveals itself as something else, and features much of the Infant Cycle's uneasy balance between abrasive textures, and quiet meditation- a balance often on the verge of tipping over. Over the past few years, ANTMANUV has created a diverse body of work in many different mediums. On this release, he has contribued a piece of wholly organic sound, a dense and growing entity of everyday sounds propelled into a hypnotic sphere of the familiar moved into unfamiliar territory."

Ashley, Robert Automatic Writing 1996 CD Lovely Music

Courtis/Moore Brokebox Juke 2009 LP No-Fi
Aaron Moore is best known as part of Volcano The Bear, described by The Wire as producing some of the finest, wildest British music of the last 10 years on record and on stage", and revered for their peerless releases on labels such as Beta-Lactam Ring and Nurse With Wound's United Dairies. He's also one third of Amolvacy (along with Dave Nuss of No Neck Blues Band), and the Paris-based Textile Orchestra. Alan Courtis was of course an integral part of the infamous Reynols, and has been involved in countless collaborations with names such as Pauline Oliveros, Kawabata Makoto, Campbell Kneale, Lasse Marhaug, Dylan Nyoukis and, of course, our own Culver. The luscious, mountainous results of their production-by-correspondence will be furnished for you in fittingly expansive gatefold vinyl, and you can expect their live performances to be just as elaborate and all-consuming. You'd never guess that the album was recorded by correspondence, as the sound of a full multi-faceted band in a warm room rises from the vinyl. Alan and Aaron throw down delicious rhythmic textures, mariachi-tinged improv, brooding desert psych and more. In beautiful gatefold sleeve with photos by Moore."

Duncan, John/Lewis, Edvard Graham Presence 2004 CD Allquestions
When you listen to a form of music crossing a giant disruptive discharge and an oppressive mantra of modifying stases, there's a good chance of John Duncan's involvement. Continuing his work on vocal treatment and shortwave - see his releases with Elliott Sharp and Asmus Tietchens for reference - this time Duncan pairs his effort with E.G. Lewis' voice and field recordings.
Duncan, John/Sharp, Elliott Tongue 2004 CD Allquestions
As Joan LaBarbara titled her ancient LP, "Voice is the original instrument" - so what happens when you open that instrument bringing out its components? This question is answered by Duncan and Sharp in "Tongue": using voices as source plus shortwave and processing as coagulant, John and Elliott hallmark your listening space with plumbeous halos of slowed harmonics and intense confluences of spectral deflagrations.
Duncan, John/Vainio, Mika/Väisänen, Ilpo Nine Suggestions 2005 CD Allquestions
A very restrained, subtly penetrating recording that unfolds more with curiosity than ferocity. Although all three artists have previously constructed music both bombastic and understated, Nine Suggestions is a primarily quiet and completely beatless entity.

Hunter Gracchus, The Sacred Object Of The Yiye People 2009 LP Chironex
The sacred object of the title is a mummified hare fetish belted into a wooden contraption. Meanwhile, The Hunter Gracchus take their name from a short story by Franz Kafka, and their music from a variety of indigenous sources, perhaps of Bedouin extraction, decorated with Balkan overtones. This submersion into a mythological dreamscape has allowed the group to escape from suburban Sheffield via an exotic sound mirage. The Hunter Gracchus's artful combination of hypnotic percussion, acoustic strum, frayed vocals and desert drone coagulates into a series of altered state anthems (bearing titles like The Blood Never Dried", and the more flamboyant "In The Soft Typewriter Of The Womb You Do Not Know The Word Armour You Carry") that merge blurred reality with fully focused fantasy." (The Wire)

L'Ocelle Mare S.T. 2009 LP Minority
L'Ocelle Mare is the solo project from Thomas Bonvalet, guitarist from Cheval de Frise who almost approaches the guitar in the same manner Cecil Taylor did the piano. While playing his classical acoustic guitar, he taps his feet feverishly and purposely, along with his compositions. His techniques are all quite unconventional, yet positively original.
Loriot, Frantz/Miano, Tonino Ulysses 2009 CDR Impressus
A gaze into the timeless concept of journey and self discovery. An idyllic and haunting musical voyage where Loriot and Miano make use of all the tools at their disposal to read in between the lines of Homer's creation. Lyrical moments give way to cascading dissonances and pounding ostinati, mantaining a pulse that oscillates between a roaring rebelliousness and a sweet tempered longing for familiarity.
Lucier, Alvin Music On A Long Thin Wire CD Lovely Music
A 50-foot length of taut wire passes through the poles of a large magnet and is driven by an oscillator; the vibrations of the wire are miked at either end, amplified and broadcast in stereo. The thin wire is set vibrating four times at four different frequencies; what results is not the low drone one might expect from a long, vibrating wire, but a complexity of evocative, ethereal chords. First released on Lovely Music in 1980, Music on a Long Thin Wire is a classic example of Alvin Lucier's investigations into the physics of sound and the sonic properties of natural processes.

One Ensemble Orchestra, The Other Thunders 2009 CD No-Fi
Daniel Padden's The One Ensemble began as a solo project and quickly morphed into a quartet with the recruitment of Chris Hladowski and Aby Vulliamy of Nalle, and Peter Nicholson. With Padden's leadership, they developed a curious and strident brew of Eastern European folk, chamber music, a pinch of Robert Wyatt and some kind of earthy psychedelic primitivism. Padden has been fortunate in recruiting a band of such polymath virtuosity, giving room for his grand designs to be realised gloriously, both on stage and on record.
Overhang Party Live Before And After 2004-2006 2006 2CD Musik Atlach
These pieces from 2004-2006 see leader Fukuoka Rinji with two different lineups and, hence sound to some extent. The first disc is with second guitarist Suzuki Junzo, Sachiko on bass, and Akiyama Kimiyasu on drums. The second disc has Sachiko adding occasional violin, with the second guitar role filled by Yamanouchi Akira and drums from Yamazaki Iwao. Both discs are filled with long psychedelic excursions, of course, but the second has a more shambling, atmospheric feel perhaps --- including the closer "Prayer of a Fool", over 20 minutes of drone voyaging. Fans of things psych will find a lot to like throughout: those with a more rockist bent may prefer the first disc, while those preferring a zoneout will go for the second.

Blood Spirits & Drums Are Singing is The Skull Defekts first record recorded in a professional studio. It is also their first one for the avant rock sound, previous releases included heavy sound experimenting, doom variations and electronic noise stuff. It is all about the rhythm. Tenney, James Selected Works 1961- 1969 2004 CD New World
The work of James Tenney (b. 1934) as a composer, theorist, performer, and teacher, is of singular importance in American music of the past four decades. He is by nature a quiet, almost publicity-shy musician, but his musical and theoretical works are steadily becoming widely known, despite the fact that few have been published and only a relatively small number, to this date, are readily available on recordings. This recording is a reissue of the 1992 Frog Peak/Artifact CD, the first recorded collection of James Tenney's music of the 1960s

V.A. (Ashley/Austin/Curran/Lucier ...) Source Records 1-6 (Music of the Avant Garde, 1968-1971) 2009 3CD Pogus
The original six ten-inch LP Source Records contained some of the most important experimental music of the nineteen-sixties to mid nineteen-seventies and they have now been reissued as a 3 CD set. Source ended publication in 1973, having published, since 1967, contemporary musical materials, scores, articles, interviews, photo essays and recordings over seven years, with up to 2000 subscribers to the semiannual journal: the subscribers avidly anticipated receiving two new and critically acclaimed issues each year during that period. Most of the original tape masters for the records, after over forty years, have vanished or have seriously deteriorated; hence, we have carefully transferred, noise-reduced, and crackle-removed all the actual LP record tracks to the digital medium, then mastered to the compact disc format for this reissue: the result is an authentic recreation of the original LP, characteristic sound.
Vercammen, Wout S.T. 2009 LP Ultra Eczema
Vercammen organised and executed the very first happenings in Belgium in the early sixties. Great collages, the only real pop artist in Belgium, latex word paintings, pneumatic forms before someone else got bigger with it. Always on the move. The way Wout Vercammen acts, performs, talks and moves is perfectly captured on this LP! When living in Antwerp, chances are you witnessed a Wout Vercammen performance without even realizing it, this is possible at any given moment. Smuggling jenever into prison, painting the copper dome of the Carolus Borromeus church white, filling blue garbage bags with air, and especially howling like a wolf, primitive throat singing and using the whole bar as a percussive instrument!!! Wout Vercammen changes reality, and makes it a tiny bit better. This record is a collection of accidently recorded "moments" and a composition of a black, a yellow and a red paint bucket all shook up through a synth and a 4 track! The LP comes in a offset printed sleeve with pictures of the artist, an insert with more pictures and liner notes by art critic Hans Theys! Limited to 400 copies
Yellowbeard S.T. 2009 LP Ultra Eczema
The Yellowbeard LP is a collection of adolescent-teenage recordings made by Joshua Burkett between 1990 and 1994, probably right before the time he joined Wayne and Kate Village in Vermonster! Some of the recordings were overdubbed in 2008. This is a beautiful collection of collaged scrambled bedroom madness, teenage wilderness, guitar noise, acidfolk, almost psych, organ fuckery, space between the tape deck and the player, outsider beauty!!!!!!! This LP comes with a glow in the dark sticker and an insert in a neon yellow/black fold open silkscreened cover design by Dennis Tyfus, limited to 300 copies.
